AV_10 was a collaborative night of experimental audio-visual works hosted by Bloc Studios in December 2010
The night gave audiences a chance to engage with immersive explorations of communication through sound alongside a screening of short films all thematically based on the work and quotations of Samuel Beckett and J.G.Ballard.

"A Conversation Among Ruins" - The interactive installation created by Tom Sparks and Lizzie Hefferin for AV_10

AV_10 at Bloc Studios
Tom Sparks’s and Lizzie Hefferin’s ‘A Conversation Among Ruins’ is an invitation to become immersed in a multichannel sound piece with an installation, which questions the validity and usefulness of words. A response to a Samual Beckett quote; “words are an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness”.
The piece is a physical and audible account of the breakdown of a man’s marriage, as he realises the breakdown of his own mental state. The audience is submerged in the event through a multi channel sound piece, and urged to look among his belongings to understand his story as it is told around them.
